Celtic and Christian feast days intertwine on All Saints Day, or All Hallows Day (1 November), and All Souls Day (2 November). Dr Carole Cusack of the University of Sydney illuminates the ancient, medieval and contemporary practices around these festivals, with special mention for the Celtic celebration of Samhain. Advent on 30 November is one of the most important times on the Lutheran calendar. Swedish priest, Katja Lin, and German Pastor, Dirk Wnendt, explain the symbolism, the mood and the importance of Advent.

Das  41. alljährliche Women’s Retreat the Lutheran Church of Australia findet nächstes Jahr vom 13. bis 15. März 2009 in Warrambui statt.  Es steht unter dem Motto „Vital Signs for a Vibrant Faith – Experiencing the essential tools for daily living in the footsteps of Jesus“.  Es wird von der Bethlehem-Gemeinde in Wagga Wagga geleitet.

Warrambui Conference Centre

Warrambui , das Retreat and Conference Centre der LCA, ist landschaftlich sehr schön in der Naehe von Canberra  gelegen. Die Anlage ist erst vor kurzem eröffnet worden und  auf dem neuesten Stand.  Die Freizeit dauert von Freitagnachmittag bis Sonntagnachmittag und kostet $100 inkl. Unterkunft und Verpflegung.

Frauen, die an früheren Retreats teilgenommen haben, waren ganz begeistert.  Und es verspricht auch diesmal wieder ein interessantes Wochenende zu werden.  Es wäre schön, wenn auch Frauen von unserer Gemeinde an diesem Angebot teilnehmen würden.
